New Directive 2006/66/EC on Batteries and Accumulators and their Wastes
The new European Union “Battery Directive” 2006/66/EC on Batteries and Accumulators and Waste Batteries and Accumulators became effective on 26 September 2006. It officially repeals the 1991 Battery Directive 91/157/EC and gives European Member States until 26 September 2008 for the transposition.
